Golden Broncho Club... The Golden Broncho Club was incorporated as a not for profit corporation on June 18, 1973. It was founded for the purpose of fostering loyalty to and financial support for the athletic programs of Jefferson High School as well as the junior high and elementary schools in the Lafayette School Corporation. About the time this organization was started, the athletic program in the schools was expanding at a very rapid rate. That expansion continues today. It was necessary to find an additional source of funds to support this growth at a level that our young people deserve. Thus the Golden Broncho Club was born of necessity. Since its beginning, the club has provided nearly $400,000 for all types of equipment, uniforms and scholarships for the students in these schools. The capital fund account has reached $100,000 of which all interest is given to the Athletic Department each October. Many people are not aware that Indiana law prohibits the purchase of most of the equipment with school corporation funds. It is then from gate receipts and support groups such as ours that athletic programs depend in order to field a complete team in all of the present sports. Lafayette has a very rich tradition of having a sound and successful athletic program. It has provided our students and fans with an important aspect of total education and community involvement. The Golden Broncho Club hopes to contribute to the continued success of this tradition. We invite you to join us.
